Annexations

Here is everything you could ever want to know about Annexations to the City of Tenino.

The most common method for annexation is the Petition method.  If you choose this method (over the election method) you need three forms.  One is the Land Use Application form, and two Annexation forms (Notice of Intent to Commence Annexation Proceeding form and Petition for Annexation form). 

The fees for annexations are:

    Minor Annexation - $900 (if less than 10 acres and $2,000,000 in value)

    Major Annexation - $1,200 (for all other annexations)

Engineering consultant review deposit may also be required.

Annexations are SEPA exempt.  The 1994 legislature eliminated the requirement that annexations are subject to review under the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) RCW 43.21C.222. Nevertheless, planning and zoning decisions made in conjunction with an annexation are subject to SEPA review.
