Planning Commission

The Tenino Planning Commission is a volunteer board comprised of five citizens who review and make recommendations to the City Council on development proposals, subdivisions, rezones, and long-range planning projects such as changes to the Land Development Regulations and Comprehensive Plan. 

The Tenino Planning Commission is also authorized to make decisions on requests for Binding Site Plans, Conditional Use Permits, and Variances. 

Planning Commission meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month at Tenino City Hall at 6:00 p.m.

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Tenino will hold a public hearing for the project listed below. The public comment period on this application runs through Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Application materials can be reviewed at the offices of Thurston Regional Planning Council, located at 2424 Heritage Court SW, Olympia, WA, or on the city website.

    Request: Preliminary Plat approval, pursuant to Sec. 100.40.110, Process IV, Quasi-Judicial, and Section 114.40.030, Required Written Findings and Determinations, of the Tenino Municipal Code, to permit a 30-lot subdivision, and Conditional Use Permit approval, pursuant to Sec. 3.3 of the city’s Shoreline Master Program, to permit installation of a water line within the Urban Conservancy and Aquatic environments to serve the proposed 30-lot subdivision.

    SEPA: A Determination of Nonsignificance was made on January 19, 2018.

    Location: 16312 Old Hwy 99 SE; generally located just west of Scatter Creek and 400 feet east of the intersection of Mima Acres Rd SE and Old Hwy 99 SE (S25 T16N R2W). The property is zoned single family with no overlay.

    Proposed Updates to Land Development Regulations

    Text Amendment TXT2016-0001 - Critical Areas and Natural Resource Lands. The City Council voted 3-2 on August 8, 2017 to approve the proposed updates.  The changes will go into effect on November 1, 2017. Read Ordinance 880.

    Text Amendment TXT2016-0002 - Uses. The City Council voted 5-0 on September 26, 2017, to approve the proposed updates. The changes will go into effect on January 1, 2018. Read Ordinance 881.
