Proposed Updates to Land Development Regulations

Text Amendment TXT2016-0001 - Critical Areas and Natural Resource Lands. The city is in the process of updating its critical areas regulations. Required by the Growth Management Act as part of the periodic review of the comprehensive plan, the city seeks to simplify, clarify, and make its critical areas regulations consistent with the best available science.

We have a scheduled open house on Thursday, April 20, 2017, to discuss the proposed updates. Stop by the council chambers any time between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to learn more about wetlands, water, steep slopes, and wildlife. We have a tentatively scheduled public hearing before the planning commission on Wednesday, May 10. Please take a moment to view the TXT2016-0001, Critical Areas and Natural Resource Lands - February 24, 2017 draft.

Text Amendment TXT2016-0002 - Uses. The city is in the process of updating its use standards in order to simplify and clarify regulations. The planning commission spends some time at its monthly meeting developing a portion of the draft.

Text Amendment TXT2016-0003 - West Tenino Water Rights. An application to remove language requiring - as part of a master plan - water rights sufficient to accommodate development in West Tenino.
