Planning Commission

The Tenino Planning Commission is a volunteer board comprised of five citizens who review and make recommendations to the City Council on development proposals, subdivisions, rezones, and long-range planning projects such as changes to the Land Development Regulations and Comprehensive Plan. 

The Tenino Planning Commission is also authorized to make decisions on requests for Binding Site Plans, Conditional Use Permits, and Variances. 

Planning Commission meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month at Tenino City Hall at 6:00 p.m.

Proposed Updates to Land Development Regulations

Text Amendment TXT2016-0001 - Critical Areas and Natural Resource Lands. The city is in the process of updating its critical areas regulations. Required by the Growth Management Act as part of the periodic review of the comprehensive plan, the city seeks to simplify clarify and make its critical areas regulations consistent with the best available science. Read the May 5 draft.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING  Hearing continued to June 14, 2017 Planning Commission meeting.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held by the Tenino Planning Commission for considering the application listed below. All interested persons may appear and provide testimony.  The Hearing will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Tenino City Hall, 149 Hodgden St S, Tenino, WA.  Information regarding the application may be obtained from Thurston Regional Planning Council, 2424 Heritage Ct. SW, Ste. A, Olympia, WA 98502.  Written comments should be received by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in order to be included with the staff report.  A copy of the staff report will be available 5 days prior to the Hearing. Copies of application materials will be provided at the cost of reproduction.

    SEPA: A Determination of Nonsignificance was issued on April 14, 2017.
    Location: The amendment applies citywide.

Text Amendment TXT2016-0003 - West Tenino Water Rights. An application to remove language requiring - as part of a master plan - water rights sufficient to accommodate development in West Tenino. Review the SEPA determination.
